I received an email warning my web hosting account running out of disk space. It indicated that my web hosting account has used 83.42% (16.68 Megs) of its allocated disk space. Can you tell me why this is happening with my web hosting account?
Actually this is just a kind reminder sending from the system.
When the disk storage of hosting accounts are reaching a certain level, the disk usage warning emails will be sent to the hosting contact. For our setting, disk usage warning email will be sent when your disk space reaches 80% and critical warning emails will be sent when it reaches 90%.
You can check the disk usage by logging in your cPanel. Once you login, you can see the disk usage as shown in the following diagram. It indicated that your account used 17.63 MB out of the 20 MB disk storage.

To see the details of the disk usage, click on the "Disk Space Usage" icon. The Disk Space Usage chart will be shown as the diagram below. It indicated that the mail folder consumes most of the disk usage of your hosting account.

The next step is to check which email accounts consume most of the disk usage. Click on the "Email Accounts" icon from the main page of cPanel, the email accounts screen will be shown as the diagram below. This is clear that the second email account consume most of the disk storage. You should consider to remove some files from this account, or upgrade your hosting account.
